The DBA program is designed for top managers, specialized consultants, company executives and government officials who have significant managerial and/or consulting experience.

The NBS DBA program is an action-oriented, doctoral-level program designed for executives seeking to lead their organizations to new heights. Graduates are prepared to surf the tsunami of technological and social change while keeping their organizations and clients at the forefront of global leadership. Graduates are prepared to assume leadership in specialized consulting, executive coaching and board-level roles within public or private organizations.


Future Studies and Strategic Foresight
This track features key NBS and international guest faculty who coach participants in the art and science of future studies and strategic foresight. Participants in this track are trained as practitioners and mentored by faculty to take on a range of roles, such as senior consultants for strategy, policy, and planning development; executive specialists in organizational change; and consulting futurists specializing in scenarios and innovative tools and methods.
Organizational Leadership
This track trains students to become experts in organizational behavior and team dynamics. Graduates are equipped with the knowledge and research skills required to influence organizational culture and to plan and implement changes to organizational structure in a consulting or executive leadership role.
Strategic Management
This track offers students the opportunity to work with faculty and mentors skilled at re-defining the strategic orientation of an enterprise. Graduates are equipped for specialized consulting and leadership roles, as well as to become thought leaders in the area strategic management and organizational change.

  • Language of instruction: English
  • Training format: modular instruction. Students take seven intensive, three-day modules once per month, with additional required assignments and preparation outside of class. Several track-specific intensive residential modules in Kazakhstan or abroad are also included
  • Program duration: 3 years
  • Graduates receive a state-certified Narxoz Business School DBA degree
  • Program includes individual career coaching session by experienced headhunter and executive placement consultant
  • Graduates receive a certificate from a foreign university for their week-long international residency module at one of several NBS partner institutions

  • Prerequisites: bachelor’s and master’s degrees in any subject and 5+ years management experience

  • Notarized copy of bachelor’s and master’s degrees
  • For students from Kazakhstan, a copy of a student’s workbook, certified by place of work
  • Copies of ID and passport
  • Four 3×4 cm photos
