NBS Dean’s Ambassadors
On April 26, 2019 Associate Dean of Academic Affairs Maira Zharylkasinova and student volunteers organized Dean’s Ambassadors team-building event through which NBS Deanery selected highly motivated, enthusiastic, creative and exceptionally innovative students. About 50 students applied to become Dean’s Ambassador, and 20 were invited to join. NBS Deanery was impressed with the energy, enthusiasm, flow of creative ideas and motivation of its students.
The idea to have a student advisory council on the school level seemed attractive, although too formal. Thus, Deanery decided to create something more dynamic, flexible and cooler. In short, Dean’s Ambassador is an honorary position for students, which allows getting involved into major on- and off-campus alumni event, conferences, forums, and other NBS occasions; privileged access to leaders, guest speakers, and visitors. Dean’s Ambassador is a source of direct two-way communication between the Deanery and students from different programs. Criteria for selection as simple as good academic performance, community service, and communication/leadership roles.
Dean’s Ambassadors are current freshmen and sophomores going into their sophomore and junior years in 2019-2020. All NBS programs are represented with at least one student from Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Tourism, Management, ACCA, and English-medium programs.
