Mirco obtained a PhD in Theoretical Physics jointly from the Max Planck Institute (Stuttgart) and the University of Leipzig (Leipzig) in Germany. He was research fellow at the Centre for two dimensional advanced materials of the National University of Singapore (Singapore) and visiting scientist at the Bioinformatics Institute of A*STAR (Singapore) and the university of Roma Tre (Italy). His academic research focus is in complex systems, strong correlations and randomness. In 2017 he moved to BAMBU, a Singapore based Fintech startup, as lead AI scientist and in 2018 he joined the Data science and machine learning group at Microsoft Singapore. His interests are in foundational aspects of Neural Networks and their applications to complex systems such as transportation, financial markets and industrial production.
